Former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni was stumped for only 5 times in his international career . As a wicketkeeper for the team, he has got 165 batsmen in the three formats of international cricket as a victim of his stumping but in Guwahati T20, he has become a victim of stumping after six years. MS Dhoni was on the field to handle the innings after  India’s consistent wickets and when he was stumped on the personal score of 13 runs, he also walked towards the pavilion. The Indian team lost this match by 8 wickets due to bad batting.

T20 International vs Australia, Guwahati 2017

T20 match between India and Australia was the first international cricket match at Barshapara International Cricket Stadium. India lost the toss and was invited to bat first. Indian batsmen appeared helpless in front of Australian fast bowling. The Indian team had 4 wickets down for 27 runs, then the team’s wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni came to the ground. Batting with Kedar Jadhav, the score was increased to 60 runs for 4 wickets in 10 overs but only then MS Dhoni lost the plot in front of Adam Zampa’s bowling and got stumped out courtesy Tim Paine’s wicketkeeping. Australia, restricted the indian innings on 118 runs and chased the target with ease.

One Day International vs. West Indies, 2011 World Cup

The Indian team made history by winning World Cup 2011 after 28 years. In this World Cup Group stage match, Team Captain MS Dhoni got stumped out in the match played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram, Yuvraj Singh’s century in the match got a good score for the Indian team. During this time, Dhoni came to bat and West Indies leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo got him stumped by wicketkeeper Devon Thomas. After this, the captain of the Indian team, who started to bat,  but with only 11 runs from the century,  went on to hit Hassan’s ball, and Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim stumped him. . Dhoni scored 89 runs in this match and contributed significantly to the team’s victory.

The third match of the series of India and South Africa 2008 was played in Kanpur. After the first match draw and the badly lost defeat in the second match, the Indian team needed to win this match. The Indian team started well after the dismissal of South Africa in the first innings. Captain Dhoni also played with Ganguly, but on personal score of 32, he went out of the crease  of the bowling of  Paul Harris and then wicketkeeper Mark Boucher scraped his cuffs. Although the Indian team won the match and got the series 1-1.
